Assalamualaikum and happy Friday to all.
May today will be filled with barakah.InsyaAllah.
To make things short my dream is that I want to be a dietitian or food nutritionist.
Not an engineer.Basically I'm not really into engineering stuffs.
My passion is always about healthy and delicious food.
Once when I was in primary school I even want to be a chef.
This might be the reason why cooking is my favourite past time.
Sometimes cooking can make me forget about my stress.
So in this entry I'll share my favourite tofu fritters recipe or in Malay is cucur tahu.
Ingredients
300gm of tofu(you can use soft tofu(絹豆腐) or firm tofu(木綿豆腐) but I prefer firm tofu more)
5 shitake mushrooms(finely chopped)
5 prawns(finely chopped)
1 stalk garlic chives(daun kuchai)
2 tablespoons of corn starch
1 tablespoon of all-purpose flour
a little bit salt to taste
vegetable oil for frying.
Directions
1. Drain the tofu from excess water.I put the tofu in the microwave at 600w for 60-90 seconds. Then take it out from the microwave and put a paper towel on it to remove the excess water.
2. Then mash the tofu with potato masher.Later add the shitake mushrooms, prawns, garlic chives, corn starch,all-purpose flour and salt.Mix them together. You can add more corn starch if the batter quite watery.
3. Heat oil in deep skillet.Gently lower the batter, one at a time, into the hot oil,and fry until it turns golden brown.Blot excess oil from the fritters with paper towels.
4. Finally you can serve it with your favourite chilli sauce.
My mama use to make this for us when I was little.Tofu it isn't only high with protein but also calcium and iron.It can be serve as breakfast, toddlers' finger foods or tea time dish. All the best to those who are going to try this recipe.
Assalamualaikum.
